Surface cladding part 1

surface cladding using 2D shape based objects

Level: Advanced
In This Video:

  • Use surface controller to map a 2d shape on a surface.
  • How surface controller sets the U and V offsets for each individual vertex in s-pline shape.
  • use surface modifier to generate patch based on a losed shape.

First choose instance mode when you are making the surface controller. then drag a sub-object offset controller into UVW vector channel in your surface controller. inside the sub-object controller you have tree options for size (length ,width, height ) . use a controller like magnet or linear controller to change the size of panel. if you want to pull up the Bezier controller you may need to make their controllers unique first and then change the height. check the new videos for PARA 2.2 for more assistance.

I had made it by steps by steps, but how to make the size from small to big? Since all the triangles are same size mapping on surface, whereas I want part of holes are small… Thanks. Sherman
