      Thanks

Could be an error when you create a new array. It seems that clicking “preview” before “apply” in “Parametric array settings” will break the array apart. ( at least in my case this is the problem )

ps. Ali, thank you for this great plugin!

      Thanks Ali,

I´m hopeful we will find a solution. Your plugin is a great asset for an architect like me. BTW. I´m almost never on Facebook. I must change habits for that. I´ll give it a try. :-)

I’m sorry for the problem you’ve encountered with plugin. I was quite busy in office this week.
Our holidays are Friday in UAE. I’ll be coming to office tomorrow to resolve this issue, here is my facebook ID ,please add me on your facebook so we can chat,

I get no error messages in the maxscript listener panel. None. Nada. I tried run script, but it doesn´t react. I can get it registered just by dropping the paramarray_lic.dat into the scripts>>startup file, since I get otherwise no pop-ups anymore as once by the first registering of the trial version.

Wouldn´t I be so much interested in the plugin, I would have given up any further attempts. I am getting driven crazy and perhaps that is happening to you too.

I created each time a new *.mse and *.ms set of scripts from the zip file to avoid re-using an eventually already garbled script. S..t.

Do you have other users on Vista, who made a better experience?

are you getting any error message in maxscript leastener panel? if yes then please forward it to me.
have you tried to run the script manualy before start working with? try it from utility menu. first run the plug-in and then macros

Sorry same experience. After re-installation doesn´t even ask me for license. Works unregistered with over 10 arrays but you do not get the pop-up requesting registration. Than follow the problems described under 2.

Apparently there some rests of the previous installation in the system, which I can not find to delete. I managed to remove apparently everything pertaining to arrays. Even the right mouse click was deleted.

I re-installed the dotNet yesterday in repair mode. I deleted the scripts and the macros from the C:\Users\Acer\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\2011 – 64bit\enu\UI\usermacros.

I have now deleted also the array commands in the quad menu. This last is something I didn´t tried yet.

Hope the system will now regard the re-installation as a completely new one and it won´t interfere with old garbled data.

Very sorry for the troubles I am causing but I find the script very interesting and I would try everything to get it working.

I´ll look whether it now works after latest intervention. There are still under right click some memory of the install. Hope it won´t harm.

Problem 1 solved, remains still mysterious 2nd problem. Since I have no problems with other software, plugins etc. I tend to look for the source of the trouble in the script itself.

A complete uninstall, thus a re-install, seems difficult, since the script leaves its droplets everywhere, macros, etc.

check the customize user interface, under the quad menu select the parametric array commands and delete them,
did you reinstall the microsoft dotnet frame work? it seems that you have problem with dotnet not only script installation.

I found out the source of the units disagreement. It was different settings for display units and system units in 3DS. Sorry. But I have to uninstall and re-install parametric array again, because it got entirely messed up. I seem to need help for this since removing the script from scripts>>startup isn´t enough. It remains in the system.

      Hi Igor,

of course not really pleased to read this. Is there an uninstall for parametric arrays, so that I could try a new installation?

      Hi Michael,
      Hi ,
someone commented on this issue before, he also found out the solution check his comment here:
      • So hey… just to tell you and save you some time. Someone told me about some problems with dotNet with some other software…. and that re-install is good idea. So I reinstalled dotNet again (seems to be same version), re-booted MAX, reinstalled script… and NOW it seems to work OK on Win7 64 too.
So unless many other people report problems – script seems to work OK for me now. I have no idea what caused bad dot Net configuration.

I am having problems with the tool at this stage:

      1. the units used for length transformations are no real world units – my 3DS units are however metric. There is thus a permanent source of conflict between used units here or there.

      2. the arrays created with the linear incremental input do not behave as described. Changing the number of items in the array to less items drops a copy without re-arranging the whole distance. Increasing the number of items is without effect. Moving the first or last item doesn´t result in a re-alignment of the array like in arrays created by a linear total input.

I submitted already this question to the script spot not knowing which would be the proper place to address you.

No idea which is the source of this misbehavior of this type of array. As an information: it is running on 3DS 2011 and Windows Vista.
